Garrett Alberson finishes fifth in final Lucas Oil MLRA point standings

Garrett Alberson was one of 47 Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) entries on hand at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) on Friday night to wrap up the series with a tripleheader weekend. After falling shy of a transfer spot in his heat race, Alberson secured his spot into the opening night feature with a runner-up finish in his B-Main behind Matt Bailey. With $5,000 on the line, Garrett gained five spots in the 30-lapper to place 14th.

The following night, Garrett came in 13th fastest in his time trial group before grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting the $7,000-to-win A-Main in 13th, Alberson improved one spot in the 40-lap affair to register a 12th place finish. (Todd Boyd photo)

With Sunday night’s MLRA finale at Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Mo.) falling victim to Mother Nature, Alberson finished fifth overall in the series standings.
