Garrett Alberson scores runner-up finish in Scottie 46 at Randolph County

Taking part in the Labor Day weekend doubleheader, Garrett Alberson invaded Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Saturday night for the Ron Jenkins Memorial. Drawing 27 Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) entries, Alberson edged his way into the opening night feature with the sixth and final transfer spot in his heat race. With $6,000 on the line, Garrett was an early retiree from the 40-lapper on lap 36.

On Sunday evening at Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Mo.) for the Scottie 46, Garrett laid down the 11th fastest time in his qualifying group before placing third in his heat. Starting the $5,000-to-win A-Main in eighth, Alberson charged forward six spots to register a runner-up finish behind Ryan Gustin with Jeremiah Hurst, Justin Duty, and Tony Toste completing the Top-5 finishers. Garrett is currently sixth in the latest Lucas Oil MLRA point standings.
