Clyde Ellis Memorial MLRA Late Models at Lakeside Speedway on Friday!

(Kansas City, Kansas) The annual Clyde Ellis Memorial is up next on Friday at Lakeside Speedway. The event is presented by Seeburg Mufflers of Kansas City and this year’s planned event includes MLRA Late Models, Stock Cars, E-Mods, and Mod-Lites.

Clyde Ellis passed away in 2013 and was a 2004 inductee to the Central Auto Racing Boosters Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. Wife Joan Ellis, often referred to as the ‘First Lady of Racing in Kansas City’ is also a hall of fame inductee and is still active in the racing community. Ellis himself set the standard high for supporting races through the highly successful North Kansas City, Seeburg Muffler.

The last time the Lucas Oil MLRA late models appeared at Lakeside Speedway was July of 2018, when Terry Phillips brought home the victory. Drivers on Friday will gun for a $3,000-to-win main event. Tony Jackson, Jr., the 2013 series champion, currently holds a commanding lead over Garrett Alberson, Jason Papich, Mason Oberkramer, and last year’s champion, Jeremiah Hurst.

So far this season, Tony Jackson, Jr., has four victories on the season. Other winners this year include Alberson, Papich, Jesse Stovall, Chris Simpson, and Payton Looney. Note, mention of driver name does not guarantee race appearance.

Friday’s timeline: Pit gate opens at 5 p.m. followed by grandstand admissions beginning at 6 p.m. The driver pill draw closes at 6:45 followed by the pit meeting at 7, practice hot laps at 7:15, and racing approximately 7:45.

Friday ticketing: General Admission: Adults (16+) $20, Seniors/Military $15, Juniors (12-15) $5, Under 12 Free. Suites: Adults (13+) $30, Kids (2-12) $10, Under 2 Free. Terrace: Adults (16+) $20, Seniors and Military $15, Juniors (12-15) $5, Under 12 Free. For Suite and Terrace availability call (913) 299-9206. Friday Pit Pass: 7 and Older $35, Under 7 $15. All kids 17 and under must have signed Minor Release to enter the pit area.

Once on the website, in the top left area of the page next to the Lakeside Speedway logo, click on “Upcoming Live” and from there select the event from the menu that appears and follow the payment prompts and questions. The fee is $19.99.
