Pair of Top-10 finishes in MLRA Spring Nationals at Wheatland

After Mother Nature spoiled the tripleheader weekend a week prior, Kolby Vandenbergh followed the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Friday for the doubleheader MLRA Spring Nationals. With 36 Late Models entered, Vandenbergh clocked in fastest in his group before picking up a heat race win. Fading outside the Top-5 late in the 30-lap feature, Kolby hung onto a ninth-place finish. In a field of 35 cars on Saturday, Kolby claimed the DirtonDirt.com Fast Time Award in qualifying with a blistering 15.052-second lap. Following a second-place finish in his heat, Vandenbergh notched a seventh-place finish in the 40-lap $7,000-to-win finale.
