13th-Place Finish in Heartland Hustle at 81 Speedway
On Friday night, Brennon Willard returned to the driver’s seat of his Willard Asphalt No. 3 Late Model at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kan.) for the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) opening weekend. With 39 cars entered for the two-day Heartland Hustle, Brennon was forced to take a provisional into the opening night feature after missing a transfer spot in his heat race and B-Main. The following night, Willard jumped up three spots in his heat race to register a third-place finish. Starting the $7,000-to-win A-Main in 12th, Brennon faded one position in the 35-lap affair to place 13th.
