Tyler Enters Lucas Oil MLRA Spring Nationals
Tyler Stevens returned to the driver's seat on Friday evening with a trip to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the opening round of the Lucas Oil Spring Nationals at the state-of-the-art, 3/8 mile oval.
Stevens squared off against a field of 48 entries, and qualifying second fastest in his group, he finished second in his heat race.
Via his preliminary performance, he earned the seventh-starting spot for the 40-lap feature.
Tyler slipped back to ninth early in the $5,000-to-win feature before settling into a seventh-place finish.
Action continued on Saturday night with a $10,000-to-win program. Tyler found himself buried early in the night after struggles in qualifying. He clawed his way into the feature with a third-place finish in his B-Main.
Starting 24th on the feature grid for the 40-lap finale, Tyler advanced seven spots to finish 17th.
